FastBound

Cloud-based firearms compliance software — the bound book, electronic 4473, acquisition / disposition workflow, and serial-number tracking that powers the back office of most modern FFL retailers. Connected to MFS Exchange via our own custom-built integration against the FastBound API.

About The Partner

Who They Are

FastBound is the cloud bound book and ATF compliance platform that a large share of modern FFL retailers use to manage acquisitions, dispositions, serialized inventory, and 4473 paperwork. It's one of the two industry-standard bound book systems we integrate MFS Exchange with (Orchid is the other), and the one most of our clients land on.

The reason we partner with them is straightforward: their API is good, their product is reliable, and they take ATF compliance seriously enough that we can plug our platform into them without worrying about gaps in the audit trail.

What They Offer

  • Cloud Bound BookAcquisitions, dispositions, and the full A&D record stored in the cloud and accessible from anywhere — with audit-trail logging and ATF-ready exports.
  • Electronic 4473Generate, lock, and attach Form 4473 to dispositions; retrieve buyer certification PINs for background-check workflows.
  • Serial Number TrackingEvery serialized firearm is tracked individually from acquisition through disposition, with item-level history visible across the whole lifecycle.
  • Multiple Acquisition TypesWalk-in trade, estate, consignment, private purchase, police trade-in, distributor receive — all supported as first-class workflows.
The Integration

How It Connects To MFS Exchange

The FastBound integration is one of the pieces of MFS Exchange we're most proud of, and the one that proves out the "we built it ourselves" thesis behind the rest of the platform:

Built by us, against the FastBound API. Most platforms claiming a "FastBound integration" are actually routing bound book data through a third-party POS that does the integration on their behalf — stretching your data across multiple systems and introducing sync issues. Our integration is a direct, native API connection that we wrote, maintain, and support ourselves.
  • Acquire and dispose firearms directly from the MFS Exchange POS or WordPress admin
  • Link FastBound items to WooCommerce products automatically
  • Manufacturer and attribute mapping that normalizes distributor data and prevents near-duplicate entries
  • Pending dispositions with Form 4473 attached, returning the buyer certification PIN for background checks
  • Serial-number assignment in the order screen with automatic return-to-inventory on cancellation
  • Acquisitions from buybacks and trade-ins, consignments, purchase-order receiving and storage check-ins
  • Automatic acquisition creation for consigned firearms with full attribute data
Why We Chose Them

What Sets FastBound Apart

  • Good API. A real, well-documented API that's actually usable — which is rare enough in firearms-industry software that it's worth saying out loud.
  • Compliance-first product. The audit trail, 4473 attachment flow, and disposition locking are designed for how the ATF actually inspects, not as afterthoughts.
  • Cloud-native. Accessible from anywhere, with the bound book centralized rather than stuck on one workstation.
  • Industry standard. Most modern FFL retailers and the platforms they run on have already standardized on FastBound — so onboarding and exporting are well-trodden paths.
Getting Started

How To Engage

You subscribe to FastBound directly — that's standard across every platform in the industry, because the bound book is your record, not your software vendor's. We help you stand up the FastBound account in parallel with your MFS Exchange build, wire the API credentials into your site, and walk you through your first acquisition and disposition. By the time you're live, FastBound and MFS Exchange are talking to each other and you're ready to run your first end-to-end firearm sale.

What you'll pay separately. The FastBound subscription is paid directly to FastBound — this is standard across every platform in this industry, because the bound book belongs to you, not to your software vendor. Everything else on the MFS Exchange side (the integration, the workflow tooling, the support) is included in your platform fee.
