This update is all about the counter. Cashiers get more flexible discounts and can ship any sale, every order now shows who handled it, and buybacks, consignments and work orders each got a little easier.

Discounts that fit how you actually sell

  • Line discounts. Mark down one item by a percentage or a fixed amount per unit, for a scuffed box or a negotiated price, without touching the rest of the sale. The register shows the original and reduced price, and the markdown carries through holds, partial payments and layaways. Cashiers without discount permission can’t apply one.
  • Stacked discounts. More than one order-level discount can now apply to the same sale. They’re listed as a labeled stack the cashier can review and remove one at a time.

Ship any sale from the register

Any ordinary sale can now ship. Choose Ship this order, then enter an address or look up an FFL by ZIP code. Picking an FFL uses the dealer’s premises address and records their license number on the order. You can also set one of your quick fees as the shipping charge, and the register offers it during the shipping flow. If the FFL lookup isn’t available, entering an address by hand still works.

Know who handled every sale

Every order now shows who sold the merchandise, who took the payment if that was someone else, and which register rang it up. You’ll see it on the POS Orders and Pickups lists and on the order screen.

The walk-away lock is also tied to each register’s own login now. Before, two registers signed in under the same employee account shared one lock, so unlocking one could unlock the other while nobody was standing at it.

Fewer loose ends

  • Finish paid orders later. A paid sale that wasn’t completed at checkout can be completed from either register’s Orders tab within a recovery window you set, not just from the original checkout screen.
  • Deposit receipts. When a sale is partly paid, the payment banner has an Email Receipt button, so the customer gets a receipt for their deposit showing the balance due.
  • Refunds back to stock. Partial and amount-only refunds can put eligible items back in stock, without offering units that were already restocked.
  • Search by product ID. Typing a number at the register now also checks product IDs.

Buybacks, consignments and work orders

  • Buybacks. When you buy a gun from someone who’s already in FastBound, the register helps you pick the right existing contact instead of failing on a duplicate. The gun’s details you’ve already entered are kept while you sort out the seller.
  • Consignments. Each consignor gets a running contact log, with every note timestamped and signed by the person who wrote it, so follow-ups don’t overwrite each other. Sold dates now show on items and payouts, along with how many items each consignor still has listed.
  • Work orders. A purchase-order line can be linked to the work order waiting for that part, and the link shows on both screens, so whoever receives the part knows which job it’s for.

All of this is in WooPOS 1.62.0, part of MFS Exchange. If you’d like a walkthrough of any of it, book a time with us.
